What is VLM Carpet Cleaning?

VLM stands for Very Low Moisture Carpet Cleaning. We clean your carpets using 1/5 the water used by traditional carpet cleaning methods.

Our carpet cleaning process uses VLM (Very Low Moisture)

What I would like to do is explain the how carpet should be cleaned.

Vacuuming your carpet will keep it looking great for years to come The frequency depends on the dirt load that is brought in and left on your carpet. Vacuuming your carpet should be done slowly to ensure that the vacuum cleaner is given the chance to agitate the dry soil loose, and then enough time to vacuum the soil into the vacuum cleaner. Keeping your vacuum in good working order is a must and following this procedure keeps the abrasive action of the dry soil away from your carpet.

I vacuum regularly but my carpets still look dingy, why do my carpets still look dirty?
There’s 2 kinds of dirt. Dry soil and sticky soil. During the vacuuming process we have removed the dry soil but not the embedded, sticky soil. The fibers of the carpet will absorb and hold onto sticky soil. These include cooking oil, water and color that attach to the fiber. Vacuuming will not remove soils that are attached to the carpet fibers. The only way to remove soil that has attached to the fiber is to wash and agitate the fibers. A process similar to washing your clothes.

To wash your carpet we recommend the correct amount of cleaning liquid with the right amount of agitation. To accomplish this we use an encapsulation cleaner that causes the dirt to release it's grip from the carpet fibers. Next we agitate the carpet with an orbital machine, this produces small circular oscillations similar to the motion used in waxing your car; gently scrubbing all sides of the carpet fiber.

The final step in the carpet cleaning process is post-vacuuming. Thorough vacuuming grooms the moist carpet and removes any residual soil that has worked loose.

The encapsulation process does a wonderful job of counteracting the sticky soils. The key to effective carpet cleaning is to remove the sticky soils. The encapsulation chemistry surrounds soil particles in the carpet and forms a crystal that can't attract other soil. So there are no recurring spots that show up later.

The encapsulated soil particles release from the carpet fiber and are extracted with normal vacuuming. And since there's no dirt-attracting residue left behind, the carpet is able to stay clean longer.

Our "Very Low Moisture" carpet cleaning method allows the carpet to dry in less than an hour. This is because we do not over-wet the carpet. Nor did we push excess water deep into the carpet and into the pad.
